Message from Fr. Mike

The Catholic tradition has been alive and well in Monroe County for many many years, and St. John the Apostle Catholic Church has played a significant role in meeting the spiritual needs of parishioners during that time.  Today our parish is flourishing with more than 600 families sharing in Christ's love!

We continue to celebrate the involvement of countless parishioners in our thriving parish community through the numerous programs, commissions, activities and social events.  These include Religious Education for youth and adults, Scripture studies, Women's Club, parish picnics, dances, Eucharistic Adoration and parish missions.

The strength of any parish is two-fold.  First, our foundation is that of the Holy Eucharist!  The Body and Blood of Jesus Christ nourishes us as a parish and as individuals as well.  Second, our strength lies in our people. It is the parishioners who give our parish its vitality.  Through the generous sharing of time, talent and treasure, the parish of St. John the Apostle reflects the light and mission of Jesus!

As your pastor, I can't tell you how proud I am of all of you.  As we continue our journey of faith, may our Eucharistic Christ bless us all!  May we truly live the treasure that is our Catholic Faith and bring others to the joy that is Christ Jesus!

God Bless You All,
Fr. Mike

Vision Statement

The Parish family of Saint John the Apostle continues the mission and the work of Jesus Christ - to bring about God's kingdom.  This mission has three aspects: the Ministry of the Word, accomplished through evangelization and catechesis; the Ministry of Worship, growth in faith - for faith brings the community together to worship, and in worship their faith is renewed; and the Ministry of Service - to each, to our Parish, and to the world.
